The “Warm Up” series of paintings were created between July and October 2022. During one of their many exploratory painting sessions together, Hunter and Jacob stumbled into this style of painting: a combination of ethereal bodies that set the stage for sharp throws of directional energy. Enthralled by the results this marked painting #1 of the series with the paintings that followed then numbered chronologically.
In this collection, Hunter and Jacob document their growth as artists and friends. In every moment, they mirror and respond to each other’s movements, from shaping and blending the colorful backdrop to their two-toned throws of color, one artist in dark and the other in the light. This synchrony of creative energy gives rise to cohesive pieces that display their joined intent along with the joyful serendipity that could only be accomplished by painting together. This series is the latest demonstration of the artists' ethos, that when people come together to accomplish a common goal the sum can be greater than its parts in unexpected ways.
